Bulldozer first overclocking
Bulldozer first overclocking
.
We have to wait a little until AMD processors will launch the most anticipated of them in recent years, made around the new architecture Bulldozer. And for us not lose interest, are now results in overclocking the core desktop models octa Zambia. More specifically the flagship Phenom FX-8130P.
It normally has a frequency of 3.8 GHz, which can rise by up to 4.2 GHz TurboCore, and has 8 MB L2 cache 8 MB L3 cache and yet, while integrating a controller dual channel DDR3 1866 MHz. All in a TDP of 125 W, voltage of about 1.4 V.
And without much trouble, and a voltage of 1.5 V, this process has reached in air-cooled frequency of 4635 MHz. The difference is not large, but should keep in mind that using a prototype, an early sample. And copies of the market we hope to have some more leeway.
Overclocking was done on a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7 (chipset AMD 990FX + SB950), which were installed two modules of DDR3 1871 MHz, with latent 22-8-8-8 (CL8) . And in this attempt to up exclusively of multiplier, bus remains almost untouched. And stability was checked with SuperPi, 1M test is finished over ten seconds seconds (but exact figures are kept secret).
